Restoring Faith, Family, and Freedom in America

One of the first things on the agenda of Joe Biden was to erase The 1776 Commission Project off the web site of the White House. That was a day one priority along with making sure that ‘transgenders’ can use male and female restrooms but that is another topic for another time.

President Trump enacted the 1776 Project this past month almost as a means to counter the 1619 Project in which the founders of the 1619 project have portrayed America as having been primarily a racist nation that has never been good. Revisionist history at its finest. This version of history is what is being taught in our many of our schools across the country and that ideology has completely swept through many of our major universities.

“The 1619 Project is a long-form journalism project developed by Nikole Hannah-Jones, writers from The New York Times, and The New York Times Magazine which “aims to reframe the country’s history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of the United States’ national narrative. The project was first published in August 2019 for the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in the Virginia colony.”

Of course one of the things they never tell you is that many of these Africans were sold into slavery by their own people.

Here was the mission statement of the intended purpose of the 1776 Commission Project:

“The declared purpose of the President’s Advisory 1776 Commission is to “enable a rising generation to understand the history and principles of the founding of the United States in 1776 and to strive to form a more perfect Union.” This requires a restoration of American education, which can only be grounded on a history of those principles that is “accurate, honest, unifying, inspiring, and ennobling.” And a rediscovery of our shared identity rooted in our founding principles is the path to a renewed American unity and a confident American future.”

I have read all 45 pages and this curriculum should be taught in schools all over America. Do we need to learn the dark parts of our nation’s history yes, but the left and the progressives have gone so far and have taken over a generation of young minds, brainwashing them or to use their term “cleansing” them into believing that America has done nothing but bring destruction, chaos and hate into the world. Every nation has parts of their past they wish they could erase but we cannot erase what we don’t like simply because we disagree with it?

But this is where we are at in our nation right now. Teaching our kids about the Declaration of Independence and our Founding Fathers is deemed, to use the word they use for everything now, ‘racist’ and too radical. It was a day one priority to erase this from the agenda. Think about that. This is the direction in which we are moving.

Wake up folks. We cannot just sit back, as Americans, and just want life to go back to normal. We have lost an entire generation because we have remained silent on the sideline for generations. We said Christians and politics don’t mix. I say here in America that our nation was founded in the pulpits across this great nation. The Word of God is at the very core of our nation’s existence.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a preacher during the early days of Nazi Germany’s rise to power and he went to the airwaves constantly warning Germany and Europe along with it about the dangers of National Socialism and the evils that come with it while preaching the Gospel. By the time the people realized what was going on it was too late. Bonhoeffer was hanged as a criminal just days before the war ended. I can see the seeds being planted right now in our nation when the left talks about “cleansing” a certain group of people who don’t hold fast a certain set of ideologies and “deprogramming” those very same people who disagree with them. 

Just as Nazi Germany created the Reich Church and re-wrote the Bible by taking out the Old Testament, cleansing a certain group of people they didn’t like from the Bible, and making the Fuhrer its god, our government has made itself ‘god’ saying all of your needs come from the government, your rights come from government, we are your creator. Right now, they have their ‘savior’ and are going to work overtime ‘cleansing’ and ‘deprogramming’ people into fitting their agenda. These are not my words; I am just using the words that they have spewing for weeks and months now. The stance that I am taking many would consider me an “alt-right, racist, Christian nationalist.” But when you go back and look at how Nazi Germany came to power, look at the facts and actual history, you will see that many politicians in our nation are following the same path. I had one of my 6th graders this week tell me that they had no idea what the Holocaust was? My goodness.

You see when they say unity, they don’t really mean unity but rather unity to them means fall in line and be quiet or face the consequences. They are very slick and smart about how they go about their agenda. They know what they are doing and are patient about promoting their agenda but I believe we saw a glimpse of their desperation in these last 4 years as these politicians were exposed for who they have been all along. Now that the masks have come off, they do not care what they say or do because half of America is blind to the things that are going on in this nation. Jesus is my Lord and my nation is my responsibility.

It all starts in the heart of man. Our hearts are spiritually closed off to what is going on. To me I see the Church just wanting to go back to normal but in all reality, there is no going back. Either we stand up for our founding principles and what is right in the eyes of God or we just sit back, and watch our liberties die one by one.

What if our founders decided to just sit back and the risk wasn’t worth the cost? I believe that they may not have always agreed on everything, not all were Christians, but all believed that the cause and the cost was too great to just sit back and do nothing. Remember that war was the absolute last option. They tried diplomacy for years to no avail. I think there are many in this nation that are tired of watching their flag and liberties trampled on, sometimes literally, and have been silent for far too long but we must be levelheaded about things. It takes a broken and contrite spirit in full repentance in the presence of an almighty God to see revival. We must humble ourselves and repent of our sins if we want to see God restore America to what she once was but are we willing to count the costs for the cause?

As a Christian it gives me comfort knowing that God has a plan and a purpose for us. He allows these things to unfold and reveals these things to us for “Such a time as this.” We have been called according to His purpose for such a time as this just as Esther was.

Every generation needs to see Remember the Titans. This is a movie that should be shown in classrooms all across America. There is a very powerful scene in the movie where Coach Herman Boone takes his T.C. Williams high school football team on a long trek through the woods that culminates at the fields at Gettysburg. He leads these young men from all different backgrounds to a cemetery where he begins to give his boys a lesson on what will happen if they do not come together. Keep in mind that the year is 1971 and racial tensions are very high. This team is about ready to self-destruct all because the color of their skin is just a bit different. So that Summer, Coach Boone decides to take his team deep into the hills and valleys of Virginia away from the chaos and noise of the world so that these boys can have a chance to come together not only as a team but as a people.

As these young boys reach the end of their long and exhausting hike covered in sweat, tears and mud and approach a vast cemetery Coach Boone, out of breath and exhausted himself, asks his team a question:

Anybody know what this place is?

The team, falling over from fatigue, gives him a look as if they have no idea what he is talking about or are just too tired to answer.

So Coach Boone proceeds with why he brought his team and staff to this particular spot.

“This is Gettysburg. This is where they fought the battle of Gettysburg. Fifty thousand men died right here on this field, fighting the same fight that we’re still fighting amongst ourselves…..today. This green field right here was painted red, bubbling with the blood of young boys. Smoke and hot lead pouring right through their bodies. Listen to their souls, men.

‘I killed my brother with malice in my heart. Hatred destroyed my family.’

You listen and take a lesson from the dead. If we don’t come together right now, on this hallowed ground, we too will be destroyed just like they were. I don’t care if you don’t like each other, but you will respect each other. I don’t know, maybe we’ll learn to play this game like men.”

This team learns to come together after they had shut themselves off from the world. Sometimes when we shut off all of those voices we tend to listen to each other a bit more and learn from one another as we find out that we have more in common than what we ever realized. The problem today is that we are blinded by hatred and we simply do not listen to our neighbor. Today we are at war with friends and family and for what? Mask no mask? Vaccine no vaccine? Republican or Democrat? Biden or Trump? Right or wrong? Left or right? Up or down? Short sleeves or long sleeves? I believe that it goes much deeper than this.

Martin Luther King Jr. once said that “Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.”

When we look in the book of Ephesians chapter 2 and verse 14 says this:

“For he is our peace, who hath made both one and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;….”

Christ did not come to bring us peace. He is our peace. Christ is love and only that dying love can truly unite us as a people. We cannot have peace and unity in this world apart from Jesus Christ. As soon as we become Christians there is absolutely no room in our hearts for hatred of anybody. It is completely inconsistent if we have the grace of an almighty God dwelling in our hearts to harbor malice toward others.

That word malice is used over and over for a specific purpose and it means:

….desire to cause pain, injury, or distress to another….

When I listen to what comes out of the mouths of those in America today I see that there are so many who desire to cause pain, injury, and or distress to their fellow countrymen all because we disagree on we should pursue our God given right to life, liberty and happiness.

As Coach Herman Boone said If we don’t come together now as a people we will be destroyed. That destruction can only come from within. We are absolutely destroying ourselves from the inside out today without any regard for what the consequences of our actions are going to produce for generations to come. We are living in the moment blinded by hatred and malice toward all.

Our nation is on a collision course with destruction and it can be prevented if we all were to just stop listening to those sitting behind the desks on CNN or Fox News, stop listening to those on Capitol Hill who claim to know what is best for us, these are the ones who are stoking the flames of the fire that will consume us as a people.

We can come together here in America once again if, and that is a big if, we are willing to sit down and listen to each other once again. We don’t have to like one another but even enemies can show respect. There is no respect anymore. Everybody just wants to ‘get’ the other. Father’s we must set the example for our children and show them that we can put our pride aside and sit down with those have different views than ours while remaining civil and we can do this without compromising our principles.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that. Only light can do that.

We are still fighting the same battles that our forefathers fought at the Battle of Gettysburg, we are still fighting the same fight that Martin Luther King Jr. fought as he and his followers locked arm in arm marching through the streets of Birmingham, and if we do not come together our kids will be fighting the same fight we are fighting today. We can end it but the question is can we set aside our pride long enough to allow the grace and humility of Christ to shine through us? This is the light in which Dr. King was referring to.

If we continue to choose the path of pride then destruction is the only thing that awaits us.

Proverbs 16:18- Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. 

This is the message that this generation needs desperately. This generation needs to know that Christ is our peace and only He can bring unity to a lost and dying world.

As Abraham Lincoln attempted to bring the nation together as the Civil War was drawing to an end he spoke these words that we must heed today:

“With malice toward none; with charity for all; with firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in; to bind up the nation’s wounds; to care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan—to do all which may achieve and cherish a just, and a lasting peace, among ourselves, and with all nations.”

I might be the last one someone would be willing to take advice from but hear me out for a few minutes.

Let me start by saying that I took my kids to see Croods: The New Age the other day. We all enjoyed the first installment of this movie series and It has been awhile since we have all been in the theatre together and with all that is going on, we thought that it was a perfect day to kick back and go watch a movie. The kids have been asking see this particular movie for sometime now so why not. As we walked into a mostly empty lobby, we proceeded to head to the snack bar to grab some popcorn and drinks because you cannot watch a movie without munching on some movie theatre buttered popcorn and sipping on an ice-cold coke. It’s unnatural. Carson of course begged for some sweets but we just ate a huge breakfast at Bob Evans so I my answer, much to his dismay, was a big no. We took our snacks and made our way into a completely empty theatre. The kids thought it was pretty awesome that we had the whole theatre to ourselves.

We got settled in, kicked our recliners back, dished out the popcorn, and waited for the picture to start when all of a sudden, I realized the kids had not used the restroom yet. I’ve seen how this game has played out one too many times. You’re in the middle of the movie when all of sudden I hear three children tell me they have to go to the bathroom. The older two can handle themselves but Brooklyn, who is only 4, always has to go right in the middle of the movie and usually at the best part. So, we got up from our comfy seats and made our way to the bathrooms one by one.

As the movie started and progressed on, I was actually enjoying it. It showed how families can come together in times of hardship and how dads deal with their daughters getting older and eventually wanting to start a life of their own. How does dad deal with news? Not well. Most dads tend to get a little emotional so I can relate on a certain level. The movie was going well up until the men are captured and the women have to come in and save the day. The women are written as strong, bold, smart, daring while the men are written as dumb, idiotic, weak, and afraid. Hollywood has been on this kick for some time now. I mean look at almost any modern-day sitcom, men are cast as silly and incompetent while the women are smart and resourceful.

Right away someone will say that I cannot comment on an issue such as this because I am a man. I think that is exactly why I can comment an issue such as this. Now don’t get me wrong I have no problem with a woman helping a man. I know there are thousands of women out there who are much smarter and stronger than me (my wife being one of them) and thousands of men out there who are much smarter and stronger than me. That isn’t the point I am trying to make here.

The point is what are we teaching our young boys and our young girls?

That being a girl isn’t special anymore?

That being a boy isn’t special anymore?

What makes a girl strong?

What makes a boy strong?

These are the questions that I am asking. I tell you what I am in awe of the things that my wife can do that I cannot. There is something special and unique about being a woman just as there is something special and unique about being a man. What is special and unique about saying that all men and women are the same? That’s kind of boring. That is sort of the way things are right now. Nothing is unique. Movies are all the same. Comedy is all the same. Society wants men and women to be the same. Nobody can have different idea or thought that is different from the status quo or you are branded racist and whatever-aphobic? That is what “equality” does. Everybody has to be the same, say the same thing, think the same way, do the same thing. I teach my kids that they are individuals and they need to know how to think and not what to think. We don’t think anymore we are just told how to think and that is that. Don’t question anything. Well, I say question everything with boldness and humility. Ask questions is what I mean. Think for yourself. This is how God created us as free-thinking human beings. He doesn’t force us to serve Him, we have to make that decision for ourselves and I can tell you that there is nothing freer than being free in Christ. Free from the world. That is why there is such an attack on the word of God today like never before. Equality isn’t freedom, equality is bondage in the way that it is presented by the world. Our founding fathers said that all men are created equal. The world is talking about a different type of equality today. An equality that takes away your rights as an individual. An equality that takes everything unique about you and says you are nothing special.

We are teaching our young women that raising a family, taking care of the home, being a mom is weak and isn’t special or unique anymore, that a woman is nothing unless she works outside the home. We are teaching them that raising a family is not a desirable thing to attain today. There has to be more to life. There is no fulfillment in being a mom, being a wife anymore. We are teaching our young men that masculinity is toxic and being a strong leader of the family is an outdated idea, that holding the door open for a lady and pulling out her chair for her is demeaning. We are teaching our young women that they have to take on the role of a man and our young men that they have to take on the role of a woman.

For some of you, you might say to yourself that I am saying that a woman has to be chained to a house with an apron around her waist, dust broom in one hand and a mop in the other. That is not what I am saying. My wife and I both work full time jobs. My wife has been a stay at home mom. I have even taken on the role of a stay at home dad and I can tell you that taking on that role is no easy task. Running a home is some of the toughest and most respected work there is. If you are walking into a job for an interview and they say you have no management experience just tell them that you have run a home, with 3 kids. That should be qualification enough.

In the times we live in we have had dads stay home with their kids; we have had moms stay home with the kids. There is no shame in this work even though the titles of “mom” and “wife” have been demonized just the traditional titles of “dad” and “husband” have been attacked. The traditional family is now considered racist and is being destroyed. What is wrong with just being a mom or a wife? What is wrong with being a dad or husband? We live in a world where people are offended by specific pro-nouns if that tells you anything about the culture in which we live in today.

God has created us all very special. There are things that my wife can do that I cannot. There are things that I can do that my wife cannot. My wife can give my kids what they need in ways that I couldn’t. I can give my kids what they need in ways that my wife cannot. God is a God of balance. There is balance in the way that God has set up the family. What we are missing today is balance. In our homes. In our churches. In our communities. In our nation.

My oldest daughter Micaela had asked this question the other day. “Why does the woman take on the last name of the man?” She wasn’t asking begrudgingly, she just simply wanted know just as Nicodemus was legitimately wanting to know how to be born again. There is nothing wrong with asking questions, at all. So, I started to have this discussion with her.

I said when you look in the Bible, (uh-oh, he’s going into the Bible) God made man the head of the household.

Eph 5:22  Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 

I didn’t stop there. That is only the first part of the puzzle. Many stop there and beat their wives over the head with their Bibles and demand respect in the form of a dictatorship. Marriage is not a dictatorship. Lets go on. Look at these next few verses.

Eph 5:23  For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 

Eph 5:24  Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 

Eph 5:25  Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 

Christ is the bridegroom and the Church is the bride. The bridegroom loved his bride so much that he gave himself for his bride. The man is the bridegroom and the woman is the bride. The man should love his wife so much that he should give himself wholly unto her and her only. He should devote himself entirely to her. If the husband shows this kind of love to his wife then you will see the wife willingly be in subjection to her husband. Marriage is a partnership not on a 50-50 basis but on a 100-100 basis. Husband and wife both give 100% of their self to each other.

Eph 5:28  So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 

Eph 5:30  For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 

Eph 5:31  For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 

Eph 5:32  This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 

Eph 5:33  Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

This whole concept is a great mystery. The world does not understand this concept nor should it. The Gospel in itself is a mystery that is hid from the world but at the same time is right there in plain sight for all the world to read. There is no private interpretation of scripture. Its there for all of mankind to read.

So why the woman taking the last name? In Ephesians 5:33……If a husband does these things, honors his wife and loves his wife, then the wife will have reverence for her husband. How can you reverence somebody anymore than by taking on their name? When we are born into the family God, we take on the name of Christ. We are a new creature. When we get to Heaven Christ tells us that we will have a new name and a new body. Marriage represents a celebration of newness; it is something sacred that should never be entered into lightly. Just as our relationship with Christ is a serious relationship so should our relationship with our spouse.

There in lies the problem today with husband and wife. Man and woman. Marriage itself has lost its reverence because the woman has lost her reverence to the man in part because the man has lost his reverence for Christ and all that He represents. If we men would take responsibility and do our jobs and lead our families the way we should we wouldn’t have nearly the problems we do.

So many are entering into marriage without any reverence or respect for the institution of that sacred union. The result is what you see today. Where was Adam when Eve was deceived and tempted away? Where was her protector? God gave Eve to help Adam. Adam was also to look out for Eve. Be the provider and the protector.

Today we have women wanting be men and men wanting women because we have lost our reverence and respect for an almighty God. It really is a simple thing. I respect my wife. I love my wife. I try and honor her with my words and works. I know that I fall way short of that every day but we must humble ourselves return to our roots, return to our principles, return to our Bibles because God gives us the blueprint for how we must live and treat each other as man and wife. Too many marriages are dissolved due to pride. Pride goes before destruction and then a fall. Men it starts with us. If we humble ourselves and show reverence to Christ, then we will start to see that spirit spill over into our marriages and how we treat our wives. We just might see a revival if we see our men getting stirred up about the things of God once again.

If I have any advice going into the New Year as we have no idea what this upcoming year will bring. I say to all the husbands, love your wives, fathers love your kids. Let your actions of humility speak louder than your words.

If 2021 is anything like 2020 full of uncertainty, unbalance, chaos, famine, job loss, know that the one constant is that God is still in control and if we want to see a return to balance, order, revival, it starts with our husbands. So Husbands, love your wives. Maybe, just maybe, we will start to see a shift in how our kids and wives look at us. Maybe the world just might take notice and look at husbands, fathers, and men with a reverence again.

I say again…Husbands, love your wives. Live for your spouse as you would live for Christ.

I have recently begun reading part 2 of a 3 part book series on Winston Churchill titled “The Last Lion.” This part of the series covers the life of Churchill from 1932-1940, his “alone” years.

I love reading about Winston Churchill. He was an imperfect man with many flaws who failed on a massive scale in a very public way as a result of his youthful arrogance many years before. Now many years later he is a broken and humbled man.

So when he saw that the growing threat of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi invasion became a very real possibility he was mocked and scolded for wanting to take a stand to take preemptive measures to stop Hitler.

His country wanted to compromise with Hitler but Churchill said these words “You cannot reason with a tiger when your head is in its mouth.”

There was no bargaining with the Nazis as it was submit to Nazi rule or die. He stood not only against the Hitler and the Nazi party but against his own countrymen. He stood alone.

History has proven Churchill was right about the Nazi threat. Sometimes in life if you believe in a cause so much, you will have to stand alone. Even apart from your own countrymen.

As a Christian you may be asked to stand alone. Even apart from those around you if need to be if you are passionate about that cause. You may mocked for being to radical but look at the times in which we live. Drastic times call for radical praying and preaching.

We live in the world but God has called us to be separate from it. Our country desperately needs revival. We are lukewarm and want things just to return to normal.

While churches are conforming to the ways of the world, many are closing their doors, critical race theory and compromising with the LGBTQ agenda dominating a lot of pulpits across America in 2020, our nation being destroyed and transformed from the inside out, and many in our churches just want a return to normalcy so they can get on with their programs, passing the offering plates, adjusting the thermostat and arguing over the color of the carpets. We need revival folks. Revival will start with our young people I have no doubt. If we don’t wake up now what will it take for us to wake up? What will be of our kids?

Revival is all I can think about. Some days I wish I could give this burden to somebody else to carry because the load does get heavy but God has laid this particular burden on my heart for sometime now.

The journey can be lonely at times. As Churchill stood alone God may call you stand alone. But understand you are never alone if you are in Christ. That is the ultimate comfort knowing that Christ will never leave you or forsake you.

I think our politicians have forgotten they are public servants not public officials. Servants was the name our founders gave themselves. My how far we have come and we call it progress.

As I listen to these mayors and governors speak about we the people like we are unruly little children, calling us hypocrites for wanting keep our businesses running because our lively hoods depend upon that income, saying we are not for law and order, saying we are breaking the law for trying to provide for our families? Why do you think so many of us have been complying with these mandates for so long? Because we hate law and order? This is all very frustrating because we all want to abide by laws and want to do what’s right but at what point do we wake up and start thinking again?

The majority of Americans are law abiding citizens who want law and order! We have always been a nation of laws so Mr. Mayor Deblasio do not go on national television and condemn a law abiding citizen who has obeyed these mandates up until the point he can longer survive unless he opens his business and then call him a hypocrite when in fact I never once heard you condemn the riots, the looting, or the burning down of neighborhoods! Don’t you dare tell me that you are for law and order.

Everybody is essential. For the record these are not laws but unconstitutional mandates. There is a process to make something a law, maybe these so called “public servants” should go back and watch school house rock.

When is enough going to be enough. It will not stop with a mask, it will not stop with a vaccine. I’m not pro or anti vaccine…I’m “use your own common sense and do what works for your own health.”

That’s how progressivism works. In stages. Progressivism ultimately leads to a dictatorship in the form of socialism or communism. The individual loses to the collective.

These politicians have taken whatever power they think they have way too far. It’s up to the individual how he or she is going to manage their own health.

How much longer do we the people let this go on? It has to stop. Families and friends have allowed these “public servants” to drive a wedge right down the middle of their friendships and families to the point where neighbors are spying on each other and turning people they have known all of their lives into the government out of fear and security?!

The majority of people today have lost the ability to think for themselves. If you say something that is offensive you are forced to apologize, no questions asked or you are publicly humiliated and destroyed.

People want to be told what to do in exchange for a little temporary security even if their individual liberties are sacrificed so long as they are safe. Life has never been safe nor will it ever. It’s all done in the name of safety and if you speak out against these so called humanitarians, then well obviously you don’t care about people. Because we know how much the majority of politicians care about the people.

We are being told what to say, how to say it, what to think, how to think, what to eat and how much of it, who we can have in our living and how many people, who is essential and who isn’t…it will never stop and Covid 19 has just given these people the means to push their agenda with the backing of the mouth piece that is the media.

At what point is enough, enough? Everybody is essential.

Many today are saying that with Covid 19 going around the cost is too much to make a difference in the lives of others.

I also see many Christians saying that the cost is too much to share the gospel, to hug somebody’s neck, to help the sick and the poor.

We have made up our minds and said it’s not worth the risk of getting sick to make a difference with the gospel in the lives others. You don’t know how much a simple hug and a kind word could make a difference in the life of someone else. We don’t the battles and struggles each other deep down are facing. Everyone somewhere is facing a battle that nobody else knows about other than God Himself.

We have chosen the route of safety, to remain in our bubble, shut off from the world, until somebody tells us it is safe to come out again. But at what cost do we continue to live this way? This exactly what Satan wants. One of his tactics is isolation. There is power in fellowship. He knows this.

There is a gentleman who won the Pulitzer Prize in 1994 for taking the picture of the vulture stalking the little girl. There was disease and sickness running rampant in this village and he was advised not to touch her, pick her up, or have any contact with her whatsoever. So he decided that he would shoo the vulture away but the vulture kept coming back. He had decided that the cost of helping this girl was too much. This man, 4 months after winning the Pulitzer Prize ended up committing suicide.

Christ paid the ultimate price for us so we could have the comfort of eternal life with Him. That is the only place comfort can come from is in the arms of Jesus. You can remain hidden, cut off from the world in your bubble, having the feeling of security but at what point do you go on living again?

Is the cost too much today to help others in the midst of this pandemic? Many of us have made up our minds and said yes to security and no to living.

Look at what the book of Matthew says here that I think we can apply to today’s climate…

Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Mat 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

How can the world see our good works, our light if we shut ourselves off from the world?

As Christians we should not live in fear because perfect love casteth out all fear and if that perfect love is living inside of us we should embrace it and let it show to the world!

Yes people have died from Covid, people have died from the flu, pneumonia, heart disease, cancer…but how many of these people have died lost? That’s the real number we need to be looking at.

I believe the cost is too high not to share the gospel with a lost and dying world. This is a question that we all must ask ourselves individually because we have to wake up and realize that the world will never be nor has it ever been safe.

Leading a life of significance starts on our knees. It starts by stepping out of our comfort zone and making a difference in the life of just one person and then another and then another.

We all have a choice to make. How much longer can we live in fear. Turn the tv off and get in the Word of God. It is our only safety net. We must get this message to the world.

Jesus was the Desire of All Nations but His coming into the World was very little observed and not many had taken notice of it. You would think that if the Son of God were to be brought into the world there would be a grand ceremony, crowns, scepters, flowers etc. you name it would be laid at His feet. The high and mighty princes of the world would bow at His feet.

This is the Messiah that the Jews had expected but yet none of this happened. The town that He was born in was Bethlehem. A little town. Quiet. Jesus causes a stir as soon as He is born. He had not spoken a word proclaimed a single doctrine, and when all you can see is a baby and all you can hear is a baby’s cries, still His influence upon the world is made manifest.

There is infinite power even in an infant savior.

Joh 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

The very first ones who took notice of Christ after His birth were shepherds.

Luk 2:15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

They saw and heard glorious things. The whole purpose of all of this is to bring peace. Historians calculate since around 3600 BC; the world has only known 292 years of peace. Since this period there has been 14,531 wars, over 3 billion people have been killed in wars. 650 BC – 16,056 arms races and only 16 of those arms races have not ended in war. Those that did not end in war caused economic collapse to those countries involved.

The world is looking for peace. They will not find peace until they accept the prince of peace in their heart. Everything going on out here does not change the fact that He is coming.

Martin Luther said that Christmas consists of 3 miracles:

1) God became Man

2) Virgin was a mother

3) Heart shall believe all of this

A miracle occurs when we take God’s word exactly the way that it is written. Don’t have to doubt it, rest assure that it is true, base your life and your eternity upon all of it. Here we have the account of the wise men coming to Bethlehem in search of a savior. We could probably break this journey down into 3 points

I. SEEKER

There are some things that I think that history would love to re-write about the wise men. A lot of people may have the wrong idea about who these men were. They were not magicians, they were magi. It is not trick’s but truth they were following. In their day they were some of keenest minds. They were astronomers not astrologers. There is a difference.

Astronomers – study of science

Astrology – watching the stars to fall and hope they land in the right direction to give you some luck.

They weren’t looking for good luck they were looking Jesus! I don’t have to look at the stars to see what kind of a Christmas I am going to have. I can look to His star! They said we weren’t looking everywhere; they weren’t looking for any star but they were looking for His star!

They were scientists, they weren’t soothsayers. They were men of science. I believe they brought the greatest trophies of science to lay at the saviors’ feet. The science that God has given to us, the wisdom that God has given to us He doesn’t give us those things to pull us away from but confirms the truth of God. All of science can be laid at the saviors’ feet.

Even with all of our technology and science today, advances in medical field, the doctor can sew up the wound but only God can heal the wound! We thank God for that knowledge, we use that knowledge effectively but yet we realize without God none of those things would be.

Wisdom doesn’t lead you away from God, false education will you way from God.

Its funny today how people will believe that just because its written somewhere it’s the truth. There are no facts behind it but because they read it somewhere it’s the truth. If it’s on the internet then its true right? If it’s on Facebook it must be true right?

What I am reading here, what I am saying here, the book that I read out of is supported by a God that cannot lie, supported by facts that cannot change, If you read the prophecies record in scripture you will find 52 prophecies fulfilled, one for each week of the year, about before He ever came to this earth, the town he would be born, born of a virgin to the very town, the reason that he was there.

One for every week of the year that we can claim the promises of Christ. Jesus did not come to this earth by accident. Divinely Appointed by the father and he came at the right time and the right place!

It was predicted to the very day that He would come. So why then did they not see it?

400 years of darkness. Their minds have drifted so far from God, they didn’t know what they word of God said. They got to the point where they relied on their own wisdom and knowledge.

These seekers, wise men, were special people. Their wisdom came from the fact that they knew who they were seeking. They knew who they were looking for and they found Him.

II. SEARCH

There’s a lot of people looking in the wrong place for Christ at Christmas. Let’s be honest, we can all say that we get caught up in that. We get busy searching for other things, we forget about the true meaning of Christmas.

It’s not that those other things are wrong but we sometimes let those other things dictate what kind of a Christmas we are going to have. They faced a lot of enemies. These men knew that they were going to have to go through a wicked King. There were people there that were trying to lead them astray. It was a hard journey.

Sometimes if we aren’t careful, we can let those things turn our Christmas upside down. Sometimes you just have one of those weeks. Where I work this our busiest time of the year. It’s a busy time for a lot of people. This week if it could go wrong it did. Everyone you talk to is so busy. I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve worked or a lot of the things that I’ve done, sometimes you just go and go and go.

You get so frustrated, you get hindered you don’t have time to shop, everybody orders online anymore, worrying about if the gifts they bought are going to get to their loved ones in time but once they get there…

Don’t you think that once these men reached their destination, when they got to where Jesus was, when they got to that first Christmas, when they got the first glimpse of the Christ child, that everything that had hindered them was worth it all. They were standing in Christ’s presence!

That’s all I want for Christmas is Christ’s Presence! I know that I am going to have a good Christmas because the Lord is here! Every one of us have the right to praise Christ this morning, no matter what happens this morning, no matter what hinders us It’s because of Christ that we have this day!

We gain strength. They gained strength because He gave them a sign just for them! A wonderful sign. His start. They knew it was His star. Without Christ, everything that we do this holiday season is in vain without His presence. There are things that we feel obligated to do but we cannot overlook the presence of Christ and He is here today!

He came to give us Hope, to give us life everlasting, we have a savior here today!

III. SUCCESS

We see their success. A lot of times we look at what we went through to get to Christ but we fail look at what He went through to get to us. There’s a story about a missionary, but he went to an area that we call the Caribbean today. There was an Island that was inhabited with a large population of slaves years ago.

God laid it on His heart to go there and reach them for Christ.

But when he got there, they refused to accept him, they rejected him. He was the same race as their masters.

All they could think of was their masters when they were cruel to them, when they looked this missionary. They would work these slaves until dark and when they got home there was barely enough food to eat. They lived in terrible conditions and they rejected him.

A large part of the article about this missionary’s journey are filled with prayers that this missionary prayed to reach those slaves. God finally gave him his answer. You know what he did. He sold himself into slavery. For a tiny amount of money, he became a slave.

Suddenly those that rejected him, started accepting his message. Because now he was one of them. Have you thought about what Christ did on that first Christmas!?

He became like one of us. Sold himself into the bonds of this place. Sold himself into slavery so that He could redeem us and forgive us of our sins. What a price He paid. We sing the songs about the baby lying in the manger, I believe that he did cry, I believe that he looked like every other baby there, I don’t think that there was a crown in His head, I believed that He looked like every other baby.

I don’t think he looked like Joseph. What’s going through Joseph’s head? The one that I am married to, conceived by the Holy Ghost. I don’t think he ever figured out how but neither have I. It is not up to us to figure it out but God simply says I want your faith.

Why did he do it? He was born that we might be born again!

I heard a preacher telling the story of a little girl named Mary Ann Bird that touched my heart. She was a little girl that was born with serious birth defects. She had a cleft pallet and a hair lip. When she got into school, you know how kids are they liked to point out her differences.

When they would ask her what happened, her mouth was all scarred, her teeth were twisted for some reason she would lie, always lie, say she was in an accident, they would all make fun of her. The 2nd grade something happened that would change her life forever. They were getting close to Christmas. She had a 2nd grade teacher by the name of Mrs. Leonard, always happy and jolly.

Right before Christmas break was a good time to give the hearing test to the kids.

They said that hearing tests were a lot different than they are today. They would have to stand against the wall and put one ear to the door the teacher would have to whisper something through the door.

So that little girl went over and put her ear to the door and was Mrs. Leonard said next changed her life forever. She would usually make a statement like the sky is blue, or are those new shoes? Make a statement or ask a question.

But that day she had done something that she had never done before, she made one little statement and said I wish you were my little girl. Mary-Ann started crying uncontrollably. It was the first time anyone outside of her family had ever told her they loved her beyond her birth defect.

I’m here to tell you this morning that when Christ came to this earth over 2,000 years ago, he was crying out to those of us who had our heads turned away from God!

Saying I wish you were my child!

Because of Calvary, resurrection, the promise of God’s word, He came and rose again, we have the promise that we can be His child today, we can be forgiven of all of our sin, yes, he loves you here today,

The greatest gift that you will ever receive is the gift of eternal life.

No wonder they fell down and brought him gifts. He was and he is the savior of all of mankind! We have one hope and one desire, every person in this community, that we might all accept Christ and be born again.

Hear Him say, I wish you were my child.

That’s exactly what you have to do. To be saved you have to become like a little child. Ask Him into your heart here today. Become His child. You can ask Him here this morning to save you from all of your sins. What a great gift Christ gave us on that Christmas morning.

“Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor — and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me ‘to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.

“And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions — to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually — to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed — to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shewn [sic] kindness onto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord — To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease [sic] of science among them and us — and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best. Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789. George Washington.”

The reason we are so divided today starts at the core of our nations most basic, fundamental principle…that are One Nation Under am Almighty God and our rights do not come from man but Our Creator. These words….

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

We cannot agree on these basic principles today. Our current President -Elect cannot even recite these words because they are not politically correct. He refers to our Declaration of Independence as “you know the thing.”

Lord help our nation on this Thanksgiving to find our way back to you through the dinner table. Gathering this year may be more important than ever. We can choose to live in fear or we can choose to live in reverence to an almighty God. Yes I am gathering with my family for Thanksgiving. I guess if that makes me inhumane or means I don’t care about people then count me a humanitarian because all these so called humanitarians for the last 4 years have been calling for the head and death of our President. Including those who have stood for these same principles. We have been called racists, deplorables, bigots, homophobic, transphobic, Nazis, etc.

So do not lecture me on the value of human life and tolerance and unity when in fact you have no problem destroying the life of an unborn baby. You only want unity so long as it fits your agenda. It’s unity or shut up. Lord help us find our way back to you.

This just in from the unconstitutionally created office of the President-elect Kamala Harris, I mean Joe Biden. Our newly corrupted, I mean, fraudulently elected, I mean hand-picked, Commander in Chief has announced a new set of laws on his first day on the throne of “for your own safety”. The newly created department of the unelected, communist, state-run, tolerant while censoring anyone who doesn’t agree with them, so-called media has just executed executive order 66 to “ensure a safe and secure society”…(okay that last one I stole from Darth Sidious but it still is pretty accurate)

1^st Commandment: Thou shalt worship the mask only.

2^nd Commandment: Thou shalt not misuse the mask in the name of Dr. Anthony S. Fauci your god.

3^rd Commandment: Remember the Mask Mandates and keep them holy.

4^th Commandment: Honor your government and your media.

5^th Commandment: To remove the cloth covering from your face is the same as murder.

6^th Commandment: Thou shalt not give false testimony concerning the mask even when they have been proven ineffective.

7^th Commandment: Thou shalt not covet your individual rights over the sake of the greater good.

8^th Commandment: Thou shalt never speak a negative word about the mask.

9^th Commandment: Thou shalt never question the effectiveness of the mask

10^th Commandment: Thou shalt never, under any circumstances, be caught without the mask on your face especially after 10pm.

On January 20^th, 2021, in Washington D.C., from the West front of the Un-United States Capitol, Darth Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. will give us his new order:  

The first of all commandments is, Hear, O America; The Lord our government is one God: and thou shalt obey the government with all thy fear, and with all thy tolerance, and with all thy riots, and with all thy looting; this is the first commandment.

And second is like, namely this, Thou shalt obey thy media as you would Lord Fauci. There is none other commandment greater than these. I have reorganized our wonderful “Democracy” into the first global empire and of course…..all to ensure a safe and secure society! Have a nice day and be well!

Remember my good and fearful subjects “We are Stronger Together!” and we are implementing these rules that are not really laws “For Your Own safety!” All because we have an opportunity to “Build Back Better!” in the name of “Social Justice, Tolerance, and Equality” as long as you agree with us and don’t ask any questions! It is time to unify and by unify we mean unite with us or shut up and go home!”

P.S….”We’re in this Together!” ….(as long as you agree with us and wear the mask, no questions asked or you hate people and want people to die.)

In all seriousness folks, what I wrote above is done with a good sense of good humor but the fact that I even need to address that tells me that we live in a world where we cannot joke about anything anymore. Free speech is just about gone unless you agree with the mainstream global agenda. Social media is censoring material that certain elites do not agree with which is equivalent to burning books you do agree with. Either you are for all speech or you are for none of it. There is no middle ground. I will defend the right of somebody to say something that I completely disagree with until I take my last breath. The worst of speech needs to be defended. Why? Ultimately who gets to decide what is good and what is evil? We live in a world that is upside down where good is evil and evil is good.

What has happened to us here in America? We have strayed from what truth is. Truth is Christ. We have strayed from Christ and those founding principles in which our forefathers set our nation upon.

How do we start to lose our individual liberties? It starts with fear….Scripture tells me that “perfect love casteth out ALL FEAR…” Perfect love is found in Jesus Christ.

We are creeping down a dangerous slippery, slope here in America.

When a person accepts the Gospel into their hearts as truth, it must be done on their own free will which then makes it real and genuine. God does not force himself on us. We must make that decision ourselves. There is no greater liberty on earth than to be free in Jesus Christ.

Today we see a large collective group of people trying make decisions for each individual. When you try and force feed an idea to a person, or a specific type of ideology, they will reject it. People in general do not like being forced to do things against their will.

There is an agenda that has been underway for some time that involves a global society. There is an idea that goes along with it. It is about control.

You must think a certain way, talk a certain way, act a certain and everyone must be the same whether you like it or not.

Free will is taken away and decisions are made for you. I am the government and I’m here to help you are words that we should always be weary of.

Today the media, social media, celebrities, athletes, sports organizations, major Corporations, businesses are now all pushing the same agenda telling you how and when to live your lives. You are being condemned by them for simply gathering in your own house and coming to church. It’s amazing to me how more Christians are not waking up to what is going on and simply want to return to normal but honestly there is no going back to normal. We must have revival.

The elites are telling you and shaming you that by simply living your life you do not care about people if you choose go out in public without a mask, if you defend law and order and reject your so called “white privilege” that does not exist you are deemed racist, if you do see somebody going around apologizing for being a certain race or color and criticizing you for not doing that they are implying that in fact they are already better than somebody else of a different color, if you stand upon the idea of traditional marriage you are called homophobic and transphobic, if you say you are pro-life you are branded a he-man woman hater, those same people who say they want big government health care are the same ones who say to the pro-lifers that government has no business their health care.

This is the agenda that you must fall in line with or you are destroyed, cut down and cast out. When a business forces their employees to undergo “racial sensitivity training” as an employer I am automatically assuming that all of my employees are indeed racist.

Racist is a word that is thrown around so much anymore that it takes away from actual real racism and what it is.

You must know where you stand with Christ. There is freedom and Liberty through the Gospel. The seeds have been planted here in America and the foundation has been laid in 2020 for the government to start coming after the Church.

Are you ready and prepared? Prepared in your heart to meet Jesus? If you are then God will give you the strength to stand against the enemy on that day of persecution not if it comes but when it comes.

Hold fast your faith. Turn off the news. Open the Word of God and let it speak to your heart.

Know your Bible. Know your Constitution. Know history. Know your rights.
